If you sign up for the cumulative rides, there is one fee but you must complete both days to finish.  There will be a 40 and 25 mile ride offered each day for those who wish to register for either or both days but do not want to ride the cumulative rides.

If you can, please print your registration form from the website and bring it with you to the ride.

Non-members pay an extra fee of $10.  Juniors are $5 less for each category.  Non-preregistered pay $10 extra at ride.

Campsites, both electric and basic, are on a first come, first served basis and there are a limited number of pens.  Camping fees apply to those that will be staying, paid to The Friends of Spruce Woods.

There will be a campfire on Saturday night with hotdogs, chips and canned drinks.

-Horse Council Membership

-Water and facilities on site, limited paddocks and campsites – be prepared to be self-sufficient (temp fencing, etc.)

-Please remember to clean up your area and that of your horse(s)

HWY # 1 West of Winnipeg, approximately two hours to HWY # 5, head South the Kiche Manitou Campground, head East, follow the Horse Campground signs.  Provincial Park Passes are required.

Manitoba Horse Council also charges $7/horse/day and a $3 upgrade fee per event. Which means please add an additional $10 if riding 1 day and $17 if riding both days. Thank You.

If you need a outdoor stall I must be notified so I can tell the MHC and there’s a $20 fee for overnight and an additional $27 fee for cleanup.

DIRECTIONS:

Take Highway 210 southeast toward Marchand. Drive through Marchand toward Marchand Prov Park (Sandilands Provincial Forest). Turn right (south) on Hwy 404. Travel 2.5km to a grassy parking lot on the left (east) side. Drive into the parking lot and follow the dirt road that travels south for a ways (parallels 404) until it turns left (east) into a clearing in the trees. There will be signs!

Volunteer jobs and how to do them;
Taking horses’ vital signs and estimating weight (hands-on practice); Coming to a ride (what to bring, what to do when you get there, when to arrive, handy gadgets, etc.)

Clinic is FREE, but pre-registration is REQUIRED. Contact Susan Heald (sheald53@gmail.com) to confirm you will be coming. We need to be sure we have enough horses for the hands-on portion.

REFRESHMENTS will be served.
