1. Approval of April 2024 Minutes

  • Terry and Brenda approved the April 2024 minutes

2. Additions to the Agenda

  • None

3. Treasurer’s Report and Membership Update

  • GIC: $2,227.54

  • Membership: 3 Family, 12 Single for a total of 18

4. Belair ride review

  • Only one table remains from the equipment trailer as it seems the other was taken from the DRM tack sale and not returned.
  • Kari filed a report for the cancelled ride as much of the work was complete and markers, demarkers, and the ride manager need to be credited for their work. The report will not be posted on the website.

Decisions:

  • DRM should replace the table as it went missing during their event.
  • The ride manager will receive their fee of $150.00 and trail markers and demarkers will receive the mileage for volunteering their time on horseback.

5. Quad updates

  • The purchase of the quad and its trailer are complete. They are currently at Brenda’s house.
  • Both the insurances (for the quad and the trailer) need to be in MTRC’s name.
  • The quad needs some accessories.

Actions:

  • Kari will sell the trailer to MTRC for $1.00 and transfer the registration.
  • Iris will insure the trailer and the quad in MTRC’s name using our Articles of Incorporation and the bills of sale.
  • Brenda will purchase the quad accessories we know we need so far: rachet straps and a cover.
  • Kari will donate a jerry can.

6. Birds Hill Park ride

  • We have a complete volunteer roster for the ride, and the vet will be bringing a tech with them to help.
  • Three people were contacted about volunteering to fill the water barrels on trail, and they all said they would if there were available.
  • Kari contacted Dianne at MHC and learned it would cost $50.00 to fill the barrels, and not the previous cost of $150.00.
  • Registration for BHP opens this Sunday at 8 am and closes the Tuesday before at 11:59 pm.

Decision:

  • We’ll order water from MTRC as it’s a fair price, supports MHC, and is much easier than having someone spend the time and their own resources.

Action:

  • Kari will order water from MHC for the June ride.

7.  2024 Fundraiser

  • It was agreed that we will do another Grey Cup ticket fundraiser in 2024.

Actions:

  • Kari will apply for the license to hold the raffle.
  • Iris will get the tickets and distribute and collect them to/from sellers.

8. Ribbons and year-end awards

  • We are low or no stock on certain popular ribbons, such as 1st and 2nd place with Novice.
  • Kari isn’t wanting to continue to purchase and store ribbons.

Decisions:

  • Many new riders and juniors love ribbons, so we’ll continue to purchase them.
  • Linda will take over ribbon ordering and storage from Kari.
