The Agenda | One addition. It was brought up we should talk about BHP and the horse trails/bikers. | We added this as point 6 of our agenda. (See below) |
Treasurer’s Report | See chart above. | |
Quad | A used 2023 Polaris with 4 kilometers on it has become available. It would cost $9,000 cad. | Talked to Lake Life Powersports in Lac du Bonnet. More info will get sent to us soon. We will be drafting a “procedures and policies” handbook. A pre/post use check will also be implemented. |
Belair Ride | The ride is back on, no longer cancelled. We have found a vet for the ride (Annette). We are still looking for a scribe and trail de-markers. Carol is timing the ride. | Thanks to Annette the ride is back on. Pamphlets say its not competitive but that’s wrong. The ride will be competitive with 10, 20, and 30 miles available. |
Pamphlets | 75 pamphlets have been made to promote our rides/events. It says Belair ride is not competitive but that’s no longer true since the ride is back on. | Pamphlets will be handed out/left in stores for people to see. Everyone at the board meeting took a few to spread around. |
BHP Bike/Horse Trails | Bike riders are attempting to expand into BHP. The biking group had a meeting with BHP and some fellow horse riders. They are wanting to create a parking lot and brought up the idea to put jumps out on sections of a few select trails. This would overlap with our “horse territory” in the park. | As we feel this is not ideal we are going to draft up a “safety concern document”. Planning to write the minister/government and park officials if needed. A Facebook page has also been created to voice our concerns. |
Motion to adjourn: Moved by Kari, seconded by Emma. Time 7:30 pm.
Next meeting will be 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 6th at Iris’s house.
